The Fat Catherine Sisterhood of Cannoniers is an all-female historical re-enactment group based in Helsinki, Finland. We re-enact 15th century cannoniers with historically accurate gear and historically inaccurate fake mustaches. Our main focus is on re-enactment shows and sparkling wine.
The Sisterhood operates two replica black powder cannons from the late Medieval period: Fat Catherine and Long Barbara. In our shows we work together as a cannon crew, loading, firing and cleaning one or both of our cannons. For safety reasons we fire the cannons without a projectile, which is handsomely compensated by the loud bang and the thick smoke.
